“I have more than ten years of experience in motoring journalism. This ranges from reporting news for the biggest weekly car magazines in the UK to reviewing the most important new cars. I’ve travelled the world covering motor shows, new car reveals and launches. And along the way I’ve interviewed top industry executives, designers and engineers.
“I’ve tested hundreds of new cars, from superminis to supercars. And I’ve driven well over 250,000 miles doing it. Lately I’ve also been involved in video production and script writing.”
In Lawrence’s free time he’s still a car obsessive. As well as tinkering with his own motors, he also enjoys pub quizzes, boating holidays, football and Formula One.

“I want to make guidance for motorists that’s accurate and easy to digest. At the same time I aim to grow the reach of RAC Drive and find effective ways to turn readers into RAC members.”

In his current role Lawrence heads up RAC Drive’s car reviews for new and used cars. He tests cars himself, writes reviews and organises video shoots for social media. He also writes advice, news stories and top 10 articles for RAC Drive.
Senior Content Editor, GRIDSERVE
At GRIDSERVE Lawrence wrote and edited content on electric cars and sustainable energy. He also set up and ran an EV car reviews platform. This involved testing the latest electric models and rating them with insight from one of the UK’s largest charge point operators.

At heycar Lawrence was part of a small team that covered all the car reviews for both heycar and Honest John. This involved attending launches around the world. He also produced news stories and advice articles.
Reviews Editor, Carwow
At Carwow Lawrence was responsible for both written car reviews and YouTube car reviews. He managed all car bookings for events, from EV range tests to drag races, wrote scripts and ran production on shoots.

Lawrence led the news section of Autocar magazine and Autocar.co.uk. He wrote long-form feature articles and sourced news from industry events, motor shows, and car launches around the world.
