We cover a range of winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, snow shoe, glacier walking, and tobogganing. And all cover levels provide benefit for equipment, personal belongings and accommodation.

Winter sports cover levels
Winter sports cover is an optional extra you can choose to add to your travel insurance. However, you will only be covered for treatment as a result of taking part in winter sports activities and loss or damage to your equipment if you purchase this add on. The level you get depends on the level of cover you have selected. Limits and exclusions apply to each cover level. For example:
- Cover is not provided to policyholders aged over 65 years, you will be covered if you are aged 65 or under at the start of the policy period.
- Winter sports equipment is not covered if used solely or partly for business profession or trade purposes.
- This policy will only cover you for winter sports if you are an amateur.
Are any snow sports not covered?
There are some riskier winter activities that we don’t cover. These include:
- Bobsleighing
- Heli-skiing
- Ice hockey
- Luging
- Ski acrobatics
- Ski jumping
- Skeleton sledding

We cover equipment for a wide range of winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, and snow shoe walking, and we'll consider claims for theft or loss of your equipment.
Specific cover will depend on the level of cover you have chosen. For further details please check the policy wording.
If the piste is closed due to too little or too much snow, or due to an avalanche warning or severe weather, we’ll reimburse you for transportation costs to travel to an alternative resort or site or if there was no alternative resort or site available, the daily limit will apply:
- up to £20 per day on our Orange cover level,
- up to £30 per day on our Silver cover level,
- up to £40 per day on our Black cover level.
Each level has a maximum of up to £400 cover limit for Orange and Silver levels of cover and up to £600 cover limit for Black level of cover.
If you miss lessons or cannot use your pass or hired equipment due to injury or illness, we will reimburse you for your non‐refundable costs that you paid for the activities.
Specific cover limits will depend on the level of cover you have chosen.
We’ll also cover you if your trip is cancelled or cut short. There are also benefits if your trip is delayed or if you miss your departure, due to specific circumstances beyond your control.
