Strong global demand for diesel, particularly from the commercial transport and industrial sectors, can push prices higher, meaning diesel is often more expensive than unleaded petrol.

Supermarket filling stations are often among the cheapest places to buy fuel because they can operate with lower profit margins. However, independent retailers and local forecourts may sometimes offer even better prices, especially in areas where competition between fuel stations is high.
