Brand and Reliability

The quality of the brand, its reliability in terms of performance, and response time of its patrols, are all crucial factors when it comes to assessing best breakdown cover - again, it’s not just down to cost.

The RAC is an established brand, having been in operation for over 120 years. We’re proud that we’re the UK’s oldest breakdown cover provider, and equally proud that an impressive 92% of our members tell us they would recommend our services to family and friends.

We’re pretty pleased with the performance of our RAC patrols, too - on average, they fix four out of five cars at the roadside within 30 minutes, so you’ll quickly be on the road again and on your way.

Rescuemycar say over 75% of breakdowns are fixed by the road (source: https://www.rescuemycar.com/). Their website doesn’t state an average fix time.
