RAC supports Silverstone Classic 2021 – the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival!
The RAC is proud to be supporting The Classic at Silverstone this year (30 July – 1 August), an epic festival weekend with historic motorsport at its heart and entertainment for all ages.

If you choose to staycation at the home of British motorsport this summer you’ll be treated to the best racing action, and a packed schedule of (free) off-track fun for the whole family too.

If you’ve not attended the Silverstone Classic before and you’re keen to find out more, here’s a run through of everything you need to know…

The race programme features the golden age of Formula One, Sports Cars, GT and Touring Car grids wheel-to-wheel – representing the last 100 years of motorsport.

This year is particularly special as The Classic is celebrating its 30th anniversary, which will be marked with a “Greatest Hits” race card.

The festival is jam-packed across three days. On Friday, qualifying for all races runs between 9am-7pm, with the chance to watch every grid. On Saturday, make the most of a 12-hour track schedule with twilight races, live music, a free funfair and access to all areas. On Sunday, cherish the final day of racing before the festivities come to an end.

Subject to guidelines, all tickets give access to both racing paddocks and open trackside grandstand seating.

This year’s event will celebrate more than just one special date, with a number of milestones being marked. It’s the 60th anniversary of “the most beautiful car in the world”, the Jaguar E-type. The occasion will be heralded by a 60th Anniversary E-Type Challenge race and a track parade for owners of the iconic model.

The DeLorean – known for its appearances on the big screen – also turns 40 this year and will be out in full force at the event.

Last year marked 50 wonderful years for the Triumph Stag but unfortunately the pandemic put celebrations on pause. The Classic will be making up for lost time and celebrating the milestone in 2021 instead. Prepare to cast your eyes on the biggest ever collection of Stags!

Last but not least, the Lamborghini Countach will also be celebrating its 50th birthday. Displays of incredible club classics are always a central feature of the event and this year promises to be the best yet.

The Telegraph will be contributing to the displays as it plans to bring together the “UK’s Rarest Cars” as a feature at the event. This very special display will star 50 of the UK’s most seldom-spotted cars, showcasing more familiar mainstream motors from past eras that are hardly ever seen on our roads today.

If you’re more into supercars, the Supercar Legends display presented by Yokohama at this year’s event has got you covered with everything from pre-war models to modern-day classics.

For those holding out for the music, headliners this year include Scouting For Girls, The Brand New Heavies and Aswad. Listen out for the likes of Britpop Reunion and Legal Jam too. Live concerts on Friday and Saturday are included in the ticket price.

The family entertainment on offer also includes free funfair rides, driving experiences and stunt shows. For more information and to buy tickets, visit: https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/the-classic

We hope to see you there!
