Keeping our Motorists Moving – RAC Service Patrol

RAC Patrols enjoy the freedom of the road and a role where no two days are the same - and for our customers, they’re often the difference between a very heartening experience or a pretty stressed day. So they’re more than trained mechanics: they’re the ultimate ‘peoples people’, able to put customers at ease as well as an expert in the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. They’re also very much part of a team – fully supported by a real-time technical helpline and a world-class technical operation.

Be the Motorist`s Champion - join RAC Service Patrol – we are recruiting nationwide!

Your Role in our Team:

As a true ambassador of the RAC, our Service Patrols are responsible for getting our members back on the road as quickly as possible, making sure our high levels of customer satisfaction and safety measures are achieved.

There is no greater feeling than watching a member drive off knowing that you have made a positive difference to their day and we fix 4 out of 5 vehicles at Roadside so you will enjoy working on a wide range of vehicles with the support of our manufacture approved technical teams. So no two days will ever be the same.

Your Role in Detail:

Using state-of-the art computer technology, diagnostic tools and our advanced RAC tool kit, you will take responsibility for fixing our members vehicles at roadside or finding an alternative local solution, resolving a wide range of issues including battery faults, tyres, alternator, clutch, engine and brakes (to name just a few).

You will bring a calm approach to what can be a stressful situation for our members using your people skills as well as your technical knowledge, to get the best possible outcome in every situation.

If you are tired of the same garage environment and you love helping others, then a career as an RAC Service Patrol might be for you.

Remember this is not a 9 to 5 so there will be evenings, weekends and bank holiday working involved and there are good opportunities to earn overtime to keep our members moving.

We are looking for flexible mechanics who have the ability to work under pressure, see a job through to resolution, demonstrating extensive current practical motor trade experience, with a mechanical knowledge of a wide range of light vehicles, plus a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or similar) from IMI, NVQ or City & Guilds.

If you can deliver exceptional roadside service, putting our members at the heart of everything we do, you can look forward to market-leading technical training and all the support you need.

So if you are a proven problem solver who can come up with great solutions quickly and you enjoy communicating face to face with members, then we want to hear from you.
