RAC Car Insurance fees explained

Our fees explained

We want our car insurance fees to be clear and easy to understand. These are administration fees charged by the RAC. They're separate from your insurance premium. Depending on the changes you make, your premium could go up or down.

The fee you pay depends on which product you have. Check your policy documents if you’re unsure which type of insurance you have.

Things to note:

  • More than one fee may apply. For example, if you cancel after 14 days, the intermediary service fee won't be refunded and a cancellation fee may apply. You'll also pay for the time you've been covered.
  • Some changes to your policy may affect your premium as well as incurring a fee.
  • Amendment fees only apply to certain changes. We'll always tell you if a fee applies before you make the change.
  • If you pay monthly, any instalment interest or credit charges are separate and are not included in the table above.
  • Fees may be lower for RAC Online Car Insurance as customers manage their policy online without advisor support.
