App Store (Apple IOS)

Google Play App Store (Android)

Step 2: Logging in to the smartphone app

Once the app has downloaded, you’ll be presented with two options:

  1. Login
  2. Register your RAC ConnectOne device

If this is the first time using an RAC ConnectOne device, you’ll need to register for the app. Providing your name, email address, a work contact number, company name, will allow us to create an account for you to link the device.

To activate the device, linking it to your vehicle & app, you’ll need the vehicle registration number (VRN), make, model and mileage and finally allow the app access to your camera to allow the app to scan the QR code on your ConnectOne device.

The app will notify when the device is successfully connected. Please see the FAQs below if you experience any issues.

Step 3: Plug your device into the vehicles 12v outlet

To ensure accuracy of the journey data logged it’s essential the power supply to the ConnectOne device is uninterrupted.

It may take up to 15 minutes after device activation for data to display within your app. If you encounter any problems, please refer to the FAQ’s below.

We recommended using a 12v outlet towards the front of the vehicle, nearest the centre console or gear stick to ensure the signal from the device is not impacted. We also recommend using a 12v outlet not required for other reasons and is clear of any obstructions.

Change your mileage at just a click of a button

Pressing the button on the ConnectOne device twice will allow you to switch mileage classification, from personal to business or vice versa.

The device will retain the last mileage classification requested. To check whether the classification is business or personal simply click the button on the device once. By clicking the button on the ConnectOne device once you’ll be able to see the current mileage classification - a red light will indicate personal mileage and blue light indicates business mileage.

If you’ve forgotten to change your mileage classification for a previous journey or selected the wrong classification, don’t worry, you can easily make a change within the smartphone app.

Once your ConnectOne device is fitted securely and the vehicle is moving, it will establish GPS signal to start transmitting your vehicle’s location and movements. It can take up to a minute for the data to appear within your smartphone app.
