In 2024, Motor Fuel Group (MFG) acquired Morrisons fuel forecourts as part of a deal worth £2.5 billion.

Morrisons fuel forecourts will continue to trade under the supermarket’s brand, but MFG has promised to install hundreds of ultra-rapid EV chargers across the 300+ sites.

Wm Morrison Supermarkets is one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains. Founded in 1899 by William Morrison, the supermarket was located predominantly in the north of England until its acquisition of Safeway in the 2004 increased its presence across the rest of the UK.

Morrisons has sold fuel in the UK for more than 40 years and currently has a 9.5% market share, according to the Petrol Retailers Association Market Review 2024, which makes it the sixth largest retailer based on motor fuel volume of sales.
