Car insurance fraud is a way deceitful people try to make money from bogus crashes – and there is a type of fraud that doesn’t even require an accident to have physically occurred. Contrived accidents are just that – it’s where a scammer will make a false insurance claim on a policy but the accident will not have actually occurred. It’s simply a way for the charlatans to swindle the insurance company.

Forcibly causing accidents to benefit from car insurance pay-outs is big business. It’s also highly illegal and classed as car insurance fraud. That doesn’t stop some dishonest drivers from inciting a collision though.
