Japanese automaker Mazda has announced a recall of over 500,000 vehicles globally, including those sold in Europe and parts of Asia, to fix problems with their power-steering systems.
Mazda spokesman Jeremy Barnes said Mazda 3 and Mazda 5 vehicles manufactured between 2007 and 2009 will be recalled.
The carmaker had announced earlier that the vehicles that will be recalled include over 300,000 Mazda 3 and Mazda 5 - built between 2007 and 2009 - sold in North America.
Mazda launched the recall following issues relating to the vehicles' power-steering system. It said there are chances the vehicles would lose power-steering assist, making it difficult for the driver to steer the vehicle.
