The top 10 most popular vans in the UK

Content guide
UK registrations of new light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in February posted a modest 1.1% rise, with 14,641 vans, pickups and 4x4s entering service, according to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
It represents the second increase in the past three months following a year of decline, though February remains a low‑volume period ahead of the March plate change, typically accounting for around 5% of annual registrations.
The uplift was driven largely by the biggest vehicles in the sector. Registrations of large vans (2.5–3.5 tonnes) grew 7.6% to 10,719 units, giving them a commanding 73.2% share of the month’s LCV market.
Mid‑sized vans in the 2.0–2.5 tonne category also saw stronger demand, with volumes up 16.9% to 2,477 units. Meanwhile, 4x4 LCV registrations climbed sharply, up 64.0% to 269 units.
These gains were tempered by ongoing weakness in other parts of the market. Pickup registrations continued to fall sharply, dropping 54.9% to just 813 units as the sector continued to feel the effects of last year’s changes to benefit‑in‑kind rules and capital allowances for double‑cab pickups. The smallest vans also struggled, with sub‑2.0‑tonne models declining by 15.0% to 363 units.
This buying and selling guide will profile the top 10 most popular vans in the UK.
