Scalextric and the RAC join forces to launch the ultimate rescue mission
Consumer Editor
Scalextric has partnered with the RAC to create a brand-new play experience for young racing fans. The Micro Scalextric Roadside Recovery Set combines the excitement of slot car racing with the action of a rescue mission, as the recovery vehicle races to catch up with the car it’s come to save.
This officially licensed set features an RAC racer slot car in striking orange, the colour of its iconic patrol vans, alongside the speedy Purple Lightning. Built to withstand high-energy play, these durable cars are ready for endless fast-paced chases and daring stunts.
With a thrilling loop-the-loop and vertical stunt ramp, children can enjoy action-packed races while experimenting with different track layouts to create their own rescue scenarios. Specially designed for younger racers aged 4+, the set also includes lightweight hand controllers and a simple plug-and-play track system for easy set-up.
By bringing together Scalextric’s legendary racing action with the trusted RAC brand, the set offers children an imaginative way to play, putting them in the driving seat of their very own roadside rescue adventure.
"We’re delighted to team up with Scalextric on this exciting new set,” said Chris Alexandrou, Patrol of the Year at the RAC. “The RAC is all about helping people get back on the move, and now children can bring that to life in a fun and memorable way, with the added excitement of a race to the rescue."
The collaboration reflects Scalextric’s commitment to creating unique and engaging play experiences that capture children’s imaginations.
"Working with the RAC allowed us to bring a fresh new storyline to the world of slot car racing," said Simon Owen, Head of Brand at Scalextric. "This set combines the thrill of racing with the excitement of a rescue mission, giving young racers the chance to play out dramatic recovery moments that are packed with energy and imagination, and it sees us partner with one of the most recognisable brands on the UK’s roads."
