The M25 is set to shut again in August as a part of the £317 million project to improve the areas between Junction 9 and 10.
Roadworks will take place during ‘peak holiday season’ according to Senior Project Manager Jonathan Wade from National Highways – and is the third of five scheduled weekend closures over the next 12 months.
There is an M25 closure this weekend so concrete beams for a new bridge can be installed. Following this, a new gantry will be put in place.
In March, the first planned closure of the M25 took place, so that the Clearmont Bridleway Bridge could be demolished an a new gantry system put in its place.
The motoring agency is working with transport operators and emergency services, as well as ports and airports to try and minimise any disruption.
Wade told the Telegraph: “The next one is scheduled for August. That's still to be confirmed, but at the moment it's been planned for August. At that time, you're obviously into peak holiday season.'
However, following the announcement, a spokesperson for National Highways said: “Any future closure dates are yet to be confirmed and any that are announced are subject to change.”

The overall plan for the updates to the M25 this summer are being put in place to restore heathland and upgrade the junctions to reduce congestion and improve safety for drivers.
As a part of the third planned closure, there will be a 19-mile diversion for drivers, and Wade is advising that drivers are prepared before setting off on their journey during the planned updates to the road network.
He said: “Drivers listened to our advice last time which reduced motorway traffic levels by over two-thirds and meant delays were limited.
“Our advice again is please only travel if absolutely necessary and make sure you give yourself extra time if you do choose to use the M25.”
National Highways will make an announcement closer to the time of the closures with more details on the future of the M25 motorway.
