It’s Clean Air Day and to celebrate, Pod Point has announced that it’s making its Open Charge Network free for EV drivers.
The entire public charging network – including rapid chargers – will be on FREE vend for 24 hours from midnight on the 21st until midnight on the 22nd June.
This initiative follows on from the success of a similar scheme for Earth Day 2018 in April, which powered more than 147,000 EV miles at no cost to drivers.
Pod Point CEO and Founder, Erik Fairbairn, said: “Thanks to initiatives like Clean Air Day, the public is now beginning to really understand the negative effects of burning fossil fuels on the air that we breathe.
“Pod Point was founded on the principle that travel shouldn’t damage the Earth. We have made significant progress towards this via our national network of charge points, but we still have a massive amount to do. We hope that making our entire public network free to use for Clean Air Day further accelerates the adoption of EVs.”
If you are an EV driver and keen to take advantage of this offer, you need to pay and charge via the app as usual. Pod Point will then reimburse any payments made via an in-app credit within 2-3 working days.
