    Default Insurance Excess

Hi my car was broken into over the weekend and stereo taken, they have also severley damaged passenger door.
Will i have to pay 2 lots of excess to get stereo replaced and door fixed?
Policy states £100 excess for damage then £100 for stereo equipment?

No, only one excess will apply in respect of any one incident on an insurance policy. The only time you would have two seperate excesses would be if two parts of the same claim were insured by different insurance policies.

EG if you had an expensive car hi-fi and insured it under a specialist policy you would have another excess on that.

    Hoep this helps

Won't help with your excess problem, but worth having a look at It can make your stolen stereo unsellable, and you may even one day get it back.
