I know i've only just joined, and many of you have been here for ages but i having looked at some of the recent posts i have to say i am shocked at the imaturity of some people here.
1. "I expected free updates on my maps"
I have never known ANY portable sat nave producer to offer free map updates
2. "they should buy back my sat nav cos it sucks"
if you were that dissapointed you should have taken it back to the place you bought it within the refund period as it obviously doesnt suit your needs (as it isnt a perfect unit which automatically updates itself overnight so you never have any worries at all)
I have owned the RAC 200 since it's UK launch, and never had a moments hastle with it, except for new roads being produced. Compare this with competition at the same price bracket (80-150) and it is definately a better product. For example. driving down a particular road in kent the TOMTOM 1 with 2 month old map updates tried to get me to go down a cycle path, whereas the RAC gave me a perfect route home.
Also, £29.99 + P&P is still good value, if you compare this to others (like, hmmm lets say TOMTOM as that seems to be the current favourite?) who charge £39.95 for just the UK and Northern Ireland map, where you would also have to buy an SD card to put it on.
If you guys asked instore for advice on what to buy, you should be complaining to them, not the admin staff here as you were obviously not in the know as far as this technology is concerned.
