Cut in, Cut up, Carve....Call it what you want

I drive a large vehicle day in day out & sometimes at night.
What gets me is why car drivers think it's ok to cut in front of a large vehicles so drastically & most of the time for no apparent reason ?

The motorway can be perfectly clear at night yet you always guarantee that a muppet will overtake then cut straight in front of you when there is nothing else about.

It doesn't even bear thinking about that if anything happened to the car which has just cut up a large vehicle.....foot to floor on the foot brake is not good odds to stop a large vehicle in time !

I bet if you could talk to them they would tell you that they always observe the speed limit though.....

Have you noticed that since the advent of speed cameras the standard of overtaking has declined? Just after my driving test (too many years ago) I was fortunate to have a couple of sessions with a Police driving instructor. On overtaking he said all the normal stuff, safety, have you got the distance you need plus the other vehicles breaking distance, does the other vehicle know you are there, has the car behind committed, appropriate gear etc. and the final bit was, once you have committed accelerate, do not lift off until the manoeuvre is complete. I think your persecutors have ignored you and got back to the limit as soon as possible, for them, because they are ‘good’.

Yea! and the worst ones are those that overtake you, pull back in then slow down! That's worse than the middle lane cruisers:eek:
