Slow Speedo...!?

So i had to have a new ecu fitted to my mk1 focus after killing it while bump starting:confused:. I had this done at a ford main dealer (vospers) and it cost me dearly.

All is good untill i pick my car up and they tell me the speedo is faulty, i mean wtf it worked when i took it in there!!

So i looked around on the internet and found a few similar problems which all reccomended i replace the speed sensor, (ford wanted £160) which i did but its still really slow.

For example, it wont move untill im going about 40 and even then it only indicates 0-5mph, when im on the motorway doing 70odd it doesnt even go up to 20mph.

Has anyone else had or heard of similar problems in any cars?

Im at my wits end as ford will no doubt want a massive wad to just diagnose the problem. Let alone fix it.

Im also worried it will fail its MOT which is due in a few months.
    Thanks for any responses!
    :)

    1. Not part of MoT test :D
    2. Use the search button at the top and type in - Ford Focus dash - where you will find a thread with 278 posts that has been viewed more than 87,000 times.
That should give you an idea;)
