My 1993 AX 1.1 petrol will not start, a quick check revealed that there is no power at the intank petrol pump with the ignition on,should it have power,I have no book would there be a fuse or relay that I could check, thanks in advance.

If you suspect a fuel problem, disconnect the fuel pipe that goes to the throttle body, switch on and catch the petrol in a container. If no fuel here, then blocked filter or pump has failed. When you initially turn the key to position 2, can you hear the pump run for a few secs then stop? If no sound then pump probably failed.
Note. After this priming the pump is switched off until you turn the key to the start position so the engine has to be turning to operate the pump.
These engines do suffer throttle body injector failure which would be picked up on a diagnostic check.

Thanks very much for the reply, the pump seems to have failed as there is power but no fuel pumped,so when I remortgage the house I will get one.
