CLIO.. X REG.. JAN 2001.. 1149CC.. 8 VALVE.. BLACK

JUST BEFORE XMAS 23rd DEC- I PARKED MY CLIO UP OVER XMAS..

SNOWED LIKE MAD AND COVERED THE CAR..:(

WHEN I WENT TO IT ON THE 30TH DEC, IT WOULD NOT START AND I FLATTENED THE BATTERY.. SO I CHARGED THE BATTERY AND TRIED TO BUMP IT OFF DOWN OUR HILL, NO GOOD STILL A NON STARTER..

REPLACED ALL 4 PLUGS AS THEY LOOKED WARN...

CHARGED BATTERY AGAIN AND CALLED OUT BREAKDOWN (SOS- OF BRADFORD) ON 31ST DEC AND THEY SAID IT WAS TDC SENSOR, SO WE REPLACED THAT AND STILL A NON STARTER..

SO CALLED OUT RAC ON THE 3rd JAN AND THE BLOKE TOOK ONE LOOK AND SAID TDC (CRANK) SENSOR, WHEN I SAID I'D REPLACED IT HE PUT CAR ON DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND A READING CAME BACK OF ALL OK.. EXCEPT CRANK SENSOR SHOWING THIS READING - THE CAR WAS RUNNING AT 220RPM, SOON AS IGNITION WAS TURNED ON... RAC MAN SAYS CRANK SENSOR MUST BE FAULTY AND ADVICED ME TO TAKE IT BACK, BUT WITH SO MUCH SNOW I CANT GET TO GSF TO RETURN IT..

ANYONE ELSE HAD A READING LIKE THIS- OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE..

Returned crank sensor to gsf auto parts and was given exchange item, which i fitted this morning... Car still a no starter...

Any ideas what to try or do next???

Do i just bit the bullet, take to a garage and foot the bill???

Have you checked the condition of the plug?

Do you still have the cover on the ecu? If so rip it off and check the wiring for damage.

Open the bonnet, on the right side as you look at engine, there may be a fuse/relay box. remove lid from box and check the wiring connections at the bottom.
Have come across this on a clio before.
Or check a broken earth connection on the left side of engine near where the drive belt runs, came across this last week.
