Battery has been off car for a few months due to a master cylinder failure it hasn't been used.
Now this has been sorted, the car doesn't seem to be running smoothly and the revs are all over the place. I have been told that it has to go to the dealer for an update, is this correct?

If the ECU has lost its memory you may have to code the injectors in again to get smooth running. Some garages can do this, especially diesel specialists and also mobile mechanics if the car cannot be moved.
