His I have a opel astra 1.6 16v 2001 the temp gauge shows the temperature at half way is this normal as the fan will not come in when I turn the heater on it blows very hot I have just got the car so not Shaw but can't remember the last astra get doing this do I need new thermostat can anyone help plz I.dont won't the head gasget to go thee coolant is fine
