What was on the clip which they needed to ask you about?

Find your Contract Policy documents and read the Terms and conditions relating to your personal data.

If I understand you correctly, the insurance company have used information from your Facebook account. Was that information supposed to be restricted?

If not, you have no complaint.

If it was, I think your grievance is with Facebook rather than the insurer.

Did you make a claim on your Insurance in January 2014? which they are still investigating?

Hard to make sense of this: What's a "widow clip" for example.

Everyone should be aware these days that everything you post on your FB page is open to the public. It is like printing it and pasting it on a notice board outside the pub for all to see - more than that, it never goes away.

If you post pictures of yourself as a teenager, with no trousers on, puking in the gutter, you can expect those pictures to come back and haunt you in later life - maybe when you apply for a job.

The seem to have discovered something from your public FB page and decided that they don't want you as a customer anymore. Of course you will have to disclose to any future insurer that you have been refused insurance by them.

Oh! In my opinion you have a snowball-in-hell's chance of suing them or claiming compensation for anything.

I tend to agree with Santa, but if the OP told us the WHOLE story then he might get better advice.

    tradewise insurance

i had been with tradewise for 6 years with no concerns then i had a minor incident in a carpark around £300 damage then from this point on it all changed they had my occupation down as a HGV driver instead of my respected occupation which had been on the policy for the previous 6 years which they admitted as been their fault but i cancelled policy due to their negligence and the broker THINK INSURANCE demanding the outstanding balance of £110 so the right arm didnt know what the left arm was doing hence TRADEWISE & THINK INSURANCE so beaware of these 2 companies as they are happy whilst taking your money until something happens then they change certain criteria and admit to it and expect you to pay the balance shaun burton think insurance ref no 00020121

It's your responsibility to check that the details on your policy are correct.

They Were Correct For 6 Years Santa Until Tradewise Suddenly Changed It Unbeknown To Me Then They Admitted The Mistake They Had Made That's Why I Cancelled These People Are Meant To Be Upto To Date If I Had Got Stopped By The Police And They Asked What My Occupation Was And I Said Welder For Instance And They Come Back And Say It Says HGV On Your Policy Then My Insurance Is Void Good Job They Corrected Themselves But On Think Insurance It Was Always Correct My Occupation With Them It Might Seem Minor But Could Have Had Serious Consequences

Occupation affects premiums, so if you said you were an office clerk, but really drove a lorry for a living, they could void your policy as HGV drivers pay more.

I Never Had Changed My Occupation Tradewise Did And Then Said It Was A Clerical Error Which Came Into Effect Same Time As They Had To Pay Out For My Minor Accident Which Was Settled Eventually And Them Digging Their Heals In And Think Insurance
