If any of you have car insurance that automatically renews each year, check it.

your renewal quote is issued 28 days before the renewal date, if anything happens before that date, accident,change of address,change of vehicle, etc this will stop the automatic renewal. You will then receive a letter a few days after the renewal telling you you havent got insurance:mad:, despite a letter weeks earlier telling you that you do not have to do anything & we will renew your policy.:confused:

This applys to Tesco,Pru,Direct Line,Churchill,LTSB, anything that RBS are inolved with.

Well it happened, 2 auto renewal invites sent to the customer, but because they called to amend some of the details, this stopped the auto renewal. We failed to advise the customer, the policy lapsed. (nothing sent to the customer to confirm this). The customers car was then impounded... our fault and we have had to pay the costs.
