F1 history will tell you otherwise but I was talking from the driver’s perspective. Yes he would like the quickest car but if his car is dramatically faster than the rest the victory is not as sweet. In general drivers who race will race in anything as long they have a chance. Absolute speed has no meaning, it is relative speed that counts, in my, perhaps distorted view, F1 has lost its way pursuing absolute speed. There is a section of motor sport devoted to this - Drag racing - personally I find this boring but this is the direction F1 is going... A racing car that cannot stalk and then overtake is just a useless toy.
