Second-Hand Daihatsu Sirion
Used Daihatsu Sirion
Launched into the highly competitive supermini market in 1998, the Daihatsu Sirion offered slightly more luggage space and interior room than other small cars from the same manufacturer, while retaining the hugely economical 1 litre, three-cylinder engine. A completely redesigned second-generation was launched in 2005, adding 1.3 and 1.5 litre engines to the range.
What You Get
High levels of passenger safety have been a feature of this car since the start and the most recent models include anti-locks along with front, curtain and side airbags as standard. The car has also been designed to provide a high level of protection to pedestrians in the event of an accident. New Daihatsu Sirions were competitively priced and hold their value well, meaning that buying a used Daihatsu Sirion for sale from RAC Cars, should be a good investment.
How it Drives
Used Daihatsu Sirions tend to be very fun to drive with light steering and a comfortable ride. The 1 litre version manages more than 55 mpg on the combined cycle so if economy is your main concern, this is the model to go for. If you are looking for a car that is capable of more than just the occasional trip to the shops and regular school run, the 1.3 litre version still manages to return around 48 mpg but is better suited to longer journeys on the open road. The bigger engines are also quicker off the mark, though this is unlikely to be an issue if the car is used mostly in an urban setting.
