Second-Hand Citroen C2
Used Citroen C2
The Citroen C2 was first released in the UK in September 2003 as a sporty, youth-oriented car. The original new C2 range featured a budget 1.1-litre model, 1.4-litre petrol and diesel versions and a VTR sports model which, with its 1.6-litre engine and paddle-shift gear change, proved to be a big hit. In December of the same year, the Citroen C2 GT was introduced which was similar to the VTR but without the sequential paddle-shift gearbox. Summer 2004 saw the release of the hugely popular VTS model which featured 130 bhp. In 2005, Citroen launched the 1.4HDi Furio and in 2006 the innovative C2 Stop & Start became available. The VTS HDi was released as the top-of-the-range Citroen C2 in 2007. The used Citroen C2 was restyled in 2008 and a variety of new features added, such as lateral air bags and MP3 CD capability. The range was simplified to four choices of trim, the Vibe, the Rhythm, the VTR and the VTS.
What You Get
All models of Citroen C2 cars are distinctive and stylish, and the range maximises the available space very well and will comfortably seat four passengers. The quality of interior materials used is a big improvement on those used in the C3 and the split tailgate eases loading when parked in a tight spot. All in all, the used Citroen C2 doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is, a good-looking well-made car that’s ideal for getting from A to B.
How it Drives
Generally speaking, all used Citroen C2 cars handle well and are fun to drive. The 1.4-litre petrol with sensodrive gearbox is a particularly smooth ride. If economy is your priority, the 1.4 HDi models will appeal to you and come highly recommended. However, if you are looking for something a little sportier, then the GT or VTR should be your first port of call.
