So im new to driving this morning had shock of my life when 3 police bikes seemed to be following me i was a little panicked , assuming id be pulled over i was in right lane on a dual carriage way just passing a car when the lead biker flashed me (no blue lights) and pointed to the left , i followed the intruction assuming id be followed or instructed when and where to pull over instead they all just shot past me entering the nearest petrol station , i followed and pulled over in there im not even sure they was aware i was there just filling up going about thier buisness . Should i assume i was simply in thier way or dread something comming through letterbox?

Best AnswerIt's amazing how most of us have a panic moment when a police vehicle comes up behind us, even when we are fully law-abiding. If they had some problem with you, they would have said at the time. Relax. -
I would have said they were on a shout and needed past but then why go into the filling station??
Could be they were on a call out but then were called off but I'd guess they probably just were impatient -
I speak from 20 years as a retired Police rider, instructor and member of the SEG (Special Escort Group)
They may have been on a shout which required a silent approach and then they were cancelled.
They may have been riders under instruction out of the local Police driving school.
They may have been preparing/training for a special escort.
Despite passing a vehicle in lane 1, your speed may have been (relatively) slow and they needed to progress pass you and just gave you a slash or a signal to move over at the earliest opportunity.
Either way, if you had done something untoward, they would have pulled you there and then even if just to have a quiet word or put a flea in your ear because that is a lot easier tan having to get the paperwork sent out and the subsequent follow up paperwork.
Forget it and get on with your life. -

Hi @Paytonb63,
I've been driving for a number of years (and so far) I haven't been pulled over, but I can imagine this would make me a little panicky too, especially as a new driver.
I'm guessing that nothing has appeared on your doormat, so as the community has already said, I'd chalk it up to experience.
