Turned into the wrong(opposite)lane

Hi! I’m used to driving on the right side of the road as I’m Ukrainian, and now I’m driving in UK. today after traffic light was green I turned into the wrong direction and it was opposite lane(3 of them) on the first 2 was cars and no one on the 3rd lane (where I drove to) , I was so confused because didn’t see where is the right lane . First my mistake ever in driving. Nobody in accident, everything is fine. It was no flash from traffic lights or anything like that , but just really worry that I can get points , if so , how many of them it will be ? And what kind of fine ? Thank you so much!

If you weren’t caught you should be fine, I wouldn’t worry

I don’t think there’s a specific offence of driving on the wrong side of the road, unless it was a one-way street

You could have been punished under some other rule, like “careless driving”, but if it was an innocent mistake I think any officer would be lenient

I have no legal knowledge and someone will probably explain better!
