Default Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI (04) Over revving Issue

    Hi all,

I have a issue with my 04 Astravan, simply it over revs, even the slightest touch of the throttle seems to sent it up to 3 -- 3.5 on the rev counter. Once there it revs between 2.5 and 3.5. This is a really becoming a pain when driving!

I have had serval garages look over it, one stung me for a new throttle sensor/pedal...didnt clear the problem.

Even been to vauxhall and a local desiel specialist but they really had no joy...

    Any ideas anyone??

As you have replaced the throttle position potentiometer on the pedal, the logical place next is the fuel pump. Have the garages not checked the throttle position sensor/actuator here?
Other than overfuelling causing this sort of fault, I can only think of oil getting into the inlet manifold from , say, a turbo seal failure.
