    Biffo, the excuse for road diversions for road works is safety, sending drivers on an unmarked route is not safe. The route should be properly marked or the works planned to keep the road open even if it is slow.
    I can remember when roadworks were managed without diversions, why not now.

    Aye! they seem to use this Health and Safety to cover a lot of annoying things these days, the worst thing is, they get away with it

    biffo, i ended up being lost in Rotheram I believe! It was 11 30pm and being from newcastle I have NO local knowledge at all! I do not see how thats okay. As well as this it was off the A1 meaning there would be alot of traffic flow surely!
    It happened to me again not so long ago too, its very disconcerting to be lost somewhere that you have no clue.
    Not everyone has a satnav or map book and the fact its the A1 suggests that it is a major thoroughfare. To me it is only logical that they have proper diversions in place.
