Default How many cars have you owned?

Just read an article in the Latest News, which says Britons own an average of nine cars during their lifetime. Personally, I have owned over 20, so I imagine there is someone out there who has only ever owned one car. How many have you owned. I am only counting cars I have owned for over a year. I have owned a few for a very short period as 'fill-ins' for various reasons.

9 cars for a lifetime certainly doesn't seem that many.

I've only ever owned one, it's my first which I got in January.

You have to remember that those statistics will also include people that have never owned a car and although it seems strange it is not that uncommon for people to never own a car!

In my 22 years of driving I've owned 8 cars for more than two years each. There have been others that were bought and sold on in that time.

Looking at the other side of the coin, I know someone that for about 6 months had a different 'heap of junk' every week. His probably had 100 cars (if you can call them that)

MrDanno, I have only counted the ones I owned for over a year. I have had a couple of write-offs. and I found that by running a 'wreck' for a couple of weeks, I have managed to acquire the leverage to argue with insurance companies for true values, as opposed to having to accept their first offer.
The longest I have owned a car has been four years, and I have owned a couple at the same time when I have wanted different usage. (This was when I could more than one on insurance as opposed to having to take out individual policies. (Another supreme insurance rip-off!))

Up until a few years ago I had kept a list of all the cars I ever owned including the reg. numbers. I wish I had kept it up though as the list is a lot longer now

They range from, 2 Hillman Imps, Ford Cortina/Escort, Morris Marina (2 of them), Renaults (5 of them), Fiat Supermirafarri (Bad Buy?) Nissan Bluebird, Citroen Picasso.
Also some vans,=Bedford TK850, Ford Luton, Renaults (2of) and a Load Lugger
