Default RAC Fault codes for a 2010 VW TDIGT

Hello, I broke down last Sunday and had to call the RAC out. The mechanic plugged his computer in and it came up with three codes.
    Primary 768
    Secondary 38
    Terciary 43

The mechanic said it was a problem with the EGR valve. Does anyone know what the three codes mean.

Those codes are not correct. The diagnostic tool is unable to correctly read your car. All fault codes must start with a P and have a description of the fault such as 'P0400 - EGR flow insufficient'.
Find a garage locally that has the equipment to identify the ECU (engine control unit) and supply the correct information. Some garages use software such as VAG-Com or VCDS (VW based) which will do this for you.
