    Angry mondeo electrical failiure

    hi i own mondeo 1.8 tdci 2009 with 41,000 miles alarm went off in early hours a.. on inspection the fan for w/screen kept coming on and off at will, inspected car 4 hours later in light and found batttery tottaly flat ,replaced battery, car started , hand washed car 15 mins later no electrics only indicator lights on dash flashing and relay in fuse box clicking!everything dead no lights etc voltage on both batterys down to 10.60 volts at a lose1 aaaaaagh thanks

    A huge drain has caused the alarm to go off and looks like its the fan. Try pulling the fuse out for the fan, recharge the battery (off the car) and watch the voltage across the battery once refitted. If it stays around 12.6v or above then you have found the problem circuit. If it drops down rapidly then you can try pulling out 1 fuse at a time to locate the circuit.
    Also check the glove box light goes out and any boot and interior lights as well.
