Ford Focus Smart Charge / Alternator Fault HELP
I have a issue with a 2004 1.6 Petrol Ford Focus.
The Battery light comes on shortly after starting the car. Recently the car completly died due to a flat battery and since then the light has been. I replaced the battery with a new silver calcium battery and the light still comes on after thrity seconds of start up.
I was going to replace the Alternator but someone has told me it could be the Smart Charge at fault.
With the smart charge plug in the voltage at the battery is 12.4 and decreases and with this removed it runs at a steady 13.5v.
Can anyone give me some advise on this as I have googled and can not get any clear ideas of testing ways.
