    Question vw t4 sticky brakes

    Hi there ,I have a vw t4 year98 with a sticky brake . The garage has changed the worn out pads twice and the brake whose , they now say it needs a new brake caliper .

    Water in the brake fuel has been sugested although only one brake is is dragging .

    Has anyone come accross this

    Check pads move easily in housing. Check caliper sliders are free and moving. When handbrake released, check the arm on the caliper returns fully. If it has to be moved with a screwdriver then mechanism is seizing up. Remove caliper and push the piston back. If it returns okay then fault is likely to be internal and so would need a caliper.
    If you don't trust the garage's diagnosis, tell them you will only pay if it fixes the fault.
