Woman crashes car after a breakup

A mother-of-two ploughed her ex-boyfriend's car into the place where he worked after he broke up with her and changed his relationship status on Facebook, a court heard.

Bolton Crown Court was told that Claire Holley smashed through the glass doors of Hollywood Bowl at Middlebrook in Greater Manchester while she was drunk.

Holley used her ex's Ford Focus to drive into the entrance, causing an estimated £14,000-worth of damage.

The incident, which could potentially hike up her ex-boyfriend's car insurance premium, took place on January 25 earlier in the year.

At a previous hearing, the 31-year-old admitted to two assaults to police officers, drink-driving and also driving dangerously.

She received a nine-month suspended jail sentence and was banned from driving for 18 months.

The judge also sentenced her to a community order lasting two years, as well as a four-month curfew from 8pm to 7am.
