Vauxhall has released early details of the next Astra VXR, including an impressive top speed and a lengthy list of equipment.
The car will be based on the Astra GTC but its exterior will feature a stylish boot spoiler, two exhausts and a redesigned, more aggressive-looking front grille. Under the bonnet the Astra VXR will be powered by a 276bhp 2.0-litre engine that can shift 295lb.ft of torque.
The vehicle will also include a mechanical limited-slip differential that utilises Vauxhall's High Performance Strut suspension technology to generate excellent cornering grip.
However, FlexRide adaptive suspension is also provided as standard. This allows drivers to switch between Sport and VXR buttons, offering two contrasting types of harder damping, steering and throttle response settings.
The car will go on display to the public at the Geneva Motor Show, which opens on March 6.
