Top Gear is 'top dream job for men'

A new survey suggests that hosting BBC motoring show Top Gear is the dream job for men.

The programme's trio of presenters - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond or James May - have a job that is coveted by 29% of men, according to discount website

It said the majority (40%) of those who dream of presenting Top Gear think it is easy work, while one in four would find it exciting.

Testing video games was the second most popular job on the list based on a poll of more than 1,350 men aged 18 and over.

A quarter of the respondents said they would love to be video games testers, while 24% wanted to be professional sportsmen.

Actor (21%) and Formula 1 driver (19%) were fourth and fifth respectively on the list of dream jobs.

The top 10 table was completed by firefighter (17%), stockbroker (16%), pilot (14%), spy (12%) and inventor (11%).
