Restored Ford Mustang to be sold

Collectors of famous vehicles are expected to bid fiercely for the original 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fast back Eleanor, which underwent extensive restoration work, at Silverstone on November 4.

The Shelby GT500, which became a star attraction following the 1974 film Gone In 60 Seconds, is expected to go under the hammer for £70,000-90,000.

The new owner of the vehicle, which is adorned in pepper grey metallic paint with a black stripe, will need to make sure that a comprehensive car insurance policy is in place.

Nick Whale, managing director at Silverstone Auctions, said: "Interest has already been strong and we're looking to build on the success we enjoyed at our previous auction where we sold cars totalling £1.5 million."
