Renault boosts Captur engine power

Renault is turning up the power on its Captur crossover for drivers who crave a little extra 'Va Va Voom'.

The French auto-maker has announced the introduction of a 1.5-litre 110 hp diesel engine that brings more power and torque to the table, without compromising the small car's fuel economy and emissions.

It will produce 110 hp and 260 Nm torque - up 20 hp and 40 Nm over the dCi 90 unit.

In terms of its environmental credentials, economy figures of up to 76.4 MPG (NEDC Combined cycle) and emissions as low as 98g/km, thanks in part to Stop & Start technology, make it efficient.

There is not long to wait, as the Euro 6 compliant dCi 110 engine will be available to order on Dynamique, Dynamique S and Signature versions of Captur from the beginning of April.

Prices start at £17,695 for the Captur Dynamique dCi 110.

This gets customers the MediaNav system including a seven-inch touch-screen, satellite navigation and multimedia connectivity, 17-inch silver alloys, and automatic climate control, not to mention the new higher-powered engine.
