An online service has been launched which will give dealers the low-down on a vehicle's value over the past 12 months and the coming three.
The new service, launched by vehicle information expert HPI and CAP Black Book, will allow those in the trade to develop a better understanding of how a car's price has changed over the course of the year. It will also offer a sneak-peak at how it's expected to fluctuate in the coming three months.
The HPI Black Book+ offers 15 months' worth of valuation information, which could be a key factor in how much a person pays for their car before signing up forcar insurance .
Daniel Burgess, managing director for HPI, said: "Unlike other valuations services, HPI Black Book+ provides more than just a snapshot of a vehicle's residual value at a particular moment in time.
"With information on past, present and future values, now members of the HPI dealer community can prioritise which stock to concentrate their marketing efforts on."
