Nissan loans cars to waiting buyers

Customers who face long delivery periods for their Nissan cars are being offered vehicles on loan for free while they wait.

The carmaker said buyers who have placed orders for the Juke, Qashqai and Qashqai+2 models and have a waiting time of longer than three months will be eligible for the offer.

Juke buyers can request the use of a Micra, while those who have ordered for Qashqai and Qashqai+2 can drive around a Note while their new car arrives.

The vehicles will be made available free of charge upon request from the supplying dealer and the scheme also includes acar insurance cover for the loan car, "subject to normal terms and conditions".

Nissan said the offer is in response to the unprecedented demand for the new models and the first of the cars will be loaned on February 24.

Paul Willcox, managing director of Nissan Motor (GB), said: "Juke and Qashqai models are in huge demand at the moment and it became apparent that the long lead times were inconveniencing some customers. To demonstrate our customer commitment we have developed this new, industry-leading scheme."
