New Lexus coupe set for Tokyo debut

Lexus is gearing up to reveal its new RC coupe to the world at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

Gracing the Lexus stand will be the RC 350, with its 3.5-litre V6 engine and the 2.5-litre RC 300h hybrid, part of a concerted Lexus effort to enhance its emotional appeal and attract new customers.

Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota and there is no shortage of luxury in the new RC, which continues the marque's reputation for the highest build quality, refinement and reliability levels. But in case there are any problems, all Lexus cars sold in the UK come with breakdown cover .

The deep contours of the RC converge on a wider and lower spindle grille and the front design echoes the previous LF-LC concept with triangular three-lamp LED headlights. At the back the combination lamps resemble the L in the Lexus logo.

The RC keeps the contrasting colours, materials and lighting of the interiors of previous Lexus sport concepts, but adds a new coloured trim, Clove, and Lexus shimamoku layered wood style finish.
