Formula One car art form on display

View Suspended II, a breathtaking deconstructed art form of a Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One car, is on display at the Mercedes-Benz World.

The artwork, created by Dutch artist Paul Veroude, was unveiled by Nick Fry, head of theMercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team, at the new F1 Exhibition in Surrey.

Combining engineering and sculpture, the piece comprises some 3,200 components, each suspended individually by wire from a purpose-built frame.

In addition to View Suspended II, the F1 Exhibition features a selection of racing cars, including 2010 season cars driven by Nico Rosberg and former World Champion Michael Schumacher, the 2009 Force India car driven by Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella, the 2007 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car driven by Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, and Mika Hakkinen's 1999 championship winning Team McLaren Mercedes car.
