A Daimler used by Sir Winston Churchill during his election campaign in 1945 and 1950 is set to go on sale next month.
The 1939 Daimler DB18 Drophead Coupe is only one of eight manufactured and the only known survivor among them. The Blitz claimed five of its counterparts and the fate of the other two remains unknown.
Its illustrious history is well recorded and shows that besides carrying the iconic war-time leader, the Daimler has been in the service of owners in the US, Germany, Britain. An Iranian prince is also listed among the car's previous owners.
The DB18 Drophead Coupe boasts coachwork by the Carlton Carriage Co, with silver over black finishing and a three-position cabriolet hood.
Interiors have been upholstered in green leather, with a bench seat in the front and sideways seat in the rear.
The car is expected to fetch between £200,000 and £250,000 when it goes under the hammer at a Historics auction at Brooklands in December.
