Cannonballers make dreams come true

Cannonballers make dreams come true

Seriously ill children and their families were taken out for a spin in an array of prestige cars thanks to motorists taking part in this year's Cannonball 2000 event.

The treat was organised by the Dreams Come True charity when Cannonball drivers gathered at the James Bond - Bond In Motion exhibition at the Beaulieu Museum.

The cars included a Ferrari California and 458 Italia, an Aston Martin DB9, a bright orange Lotus, and a Jaguar XK8, while James Bond stunt driver Ray Dehaan talked to the children and their families about car chases and the 007 movies. Model Kate Green and TV presenter Lizzie Cundy also took part in the event.

This first-ever Cannonball 2000 will see motorists covering 2,000 miles between London and Paris, via Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Milan, a five-day trip for which having European breakdown cover is a must.

The motorists will be setting off from the Hilton hotel on Park Lane on September 5 with part of their fees going directly to Dreams Come True, which helps make dreams come true for seriously and terminally children and their families.
