German car giant BMW has issued a recall affecting about 26,000 luxury vehicles in the UK due to a fault with the power-braking system.
According to the firm, the recall includes BMW 5, 6 and 7 range vehicles - equipped with V8 and V12 engines - manufactured between 2002 and 2010. It also affects about 1,200 Rolls-Royce Phantom cars, built between 2003 and 2010.
In total, the car manufacturer has recalled some 340,000 vehicles around the world over the braking issue.
BMW plans to rectify the problem, which involves leaks in the power braking system, resulting in vacuum loss and a reduction in power braking support. However, mechanical braking could still be used to slow and stop the vehicle, the firm added.
A spokesman said: "We are writing to all the owners involved asking them to arrange a service appointment. There have not been any accidents or injuries."
Earlier in the year, Toyota recalled nearly nine million vehicles globally, due to a series of problems.
