Audi prices rise as pound falls

The fall in value of the pound against the euro means that the UK prices of some Audi cars will go up by an average 2% from February 23.

The increase is "a direct result of increased financial pressure exerted by the current, unprecedented euro-to-sterling exchange rate", the company has said.

Models excluded from the price hikes include the S4 saloon and Avant, A5 cabriolet, Q5, RS 6, Q7 and R8.

Existing orders for the rest will also be excluded, and the company will offer equipment upgrades to balance out the extra costs until the end of April.

An Audi spokesman said: "Audi UK is aligning with earlier competitor movement in its segment in adjusting pricing to reflect current trading conditions, but has confirmed that all existing customer orders already signed will be price-protected and hence unaffected by this change."
